Church of St. Bartholomew
From the 19th century, the dome of the Jewish synagogue in the pseudo-Moorish style (1882) and the slender tower of the nearby church of St. Bartholomew for Evangelicals of the Augsburg Confession. With the financial help of evangelicals from neighboring countries, e.g. Emperor William I, a neo-Romanesque church for non-Catholics could be built in 1864 according to the plans of the prominent European architect F. A. Stüler (1800-1865), in 1882 the building was enriched with a clock tower. After 1945, it became the church of Prokop Holé and belonged to the Czechoslovak Hussite Church. In both of them, the church acquired the so-called best organ in Central Europe, moved from the Trnova Church of Christ (called the Green Church) demolished in 1972.
Doubravska hora
Surprisingly, the history of the castle on Doubravka does not go back to the deep past. During the 15th – 16th centuries, when Teplicko significantly influenced the Vřesov family, it was built by Jan Ilburk of Vřesovice in the years 1478-1486. It was renovated from 1590, when new fortifications were built by Dutch masters. It burned down in 1626. During the Thirty Years’ War, it was demolished by order of the emperor in 1644. As a popular romantic place with a beautiful view, the ruins were repaired in 1884-1885, a restaurant was built, and an observation tower was built from one of the bastions.
